GIRLS REQUIRED

Norristhorpe girls under 12's have been running now for five seasons. We started at under 8 age group against boys and though in most games we had some heavy defeats, we also managed a couple of decent results (even drawing one game) considering it was the girls first season at football.

                          The year after though brought the benefits of playing against the boys when for the first time the West Riding Girls league ran an under 9 division and the girls having a very successful year by doing the league and cup double.The following season saw us try to run two different sides, one team playing in the Four Counties League against the likes of Leeds Utd, Doncaster Belles and Sheffields United and Wednesday while the other team played again in the West Riding League but it turned out to be a difficult season due to lack of numbers.

                         Last season saw all thirteen of the girls play as one team in the West Riding League, winning the third division and having a very enjoyable weekend in Blackpool culminating in winning the Blackpool soccer sevens shield against teams from all over the north of England.

                         This season we are trying our luck at 11 A Side, we started off with 17 players signed on but are now down to only twelve players (that's when everyone turns up) our last two games we have had to play with 10 and 9 players but due to the commitment of the girls they managed to win both.

                         It would be a shame for these girls if the team had to fold after being together for such a long time but new players are needed to keep the team going. It doesn't matter whether you've played before or not everyone is welcome to come training and hopefully to play matches as well. All coaches/helpers are CRB checked and the club itself is of Charter Standard Development Status.
