Norristhorpe Terriers v Kexborough

      Date : 30/12/07

      Score : 1-8

      Scorers : Merriman

Man of the Match : Sebastian Nunns

Team : Cameron Bedford, Thomas Merriman, Tom Rowson, Reynard Caine, Ryan McLean, Sebastian Nunns

                  Jake Wilby

Norristhorpe start the game from kick off and straight away bad habits are back as the ball is stolen by the Kexborough forward and they go on to open the scoring in a matter of seconds. The Terriers are stung by this and start to fight their way back into the game. The midfield dominance begins to tell and when Rowson breaks through midfield and lays a delightful pass to Merriman who then composed himself and lifted the ball over the advancing keeper to draw Norristhorpe level. It did look like Norristhorpe would go on and get another goal but good saves and the post denied them. Caine was called into action at the other end and was well upto the task in hand with a couple of fine saves. Merriman & Rowson had a couple of good efforts well saved. Kexborough then had the rub of the green when a mix up in the Terriers defence bounced off a Kexborough player into the net. As half time approached the Terriers were starting to look a bit jaded and the now confident Kexborough side added another couple of goals. Rowson managed to hit the post again after a good pass from Nunns put him through but the was the last action of the first half.

H-T 1-4

The second half started in much the same manner as the first half had finished not to mention Kexborough still having all the luck as they scored a tap in from a rebound. This seemd to knock the stuffing out Norristhorpe and they were overcome by a strong Kexborough side who manged to knock in a couple of fine goals to go with the two lucky ones. There was just time for Rowson to get his hattrick of hit posts though as the final whistle came to end a torrid game for the Terriers. It may have been a different story if Rowson's shots had gone in but at least the chances were being created and if that continues his and Norristhorpe's luck will surley change

F-T 1-8
